SN: 63791 '3rd Model' Engraved & Gilt vintage top break revolver chambered in .38 S&W, circa 1890-1898. 'Lemon squeezer'. Beautiful full coverage Nimschke style floral/scroll engraving. Features a nickel/Gilt plated finish, blued triggerguard, 3" ribbed barrel, forged round blade front sight, 'u' notched rear sight, fluted five shot cylinder, smooth trigger, backstrap safety and engraved Mother of Pearl grips, the right panel is engraved with the Mexican Eagle/snake motif, fine detail. Serial numbers matched on the heel, latch and cylinder. Revolver exhibits approximately about 85% of it's original nickel plated finish showing edge wear, scattered losses. the gilt finish over it is mostly gone with traces in protected areas, mostly in the flutes. Action is smooth with very good lock-up, bore is excellent/bright, strong rifling. Mother of pearl grips are overall very good with a very small chip out of the upper left panel and a small crack in the upper right panel. Mechanically functional. Comes with a vintage russet cartridge belt with 25 loops, 7 have been cut off and russet holster with tooled edges.
